Tea, coffee, something cold, something hot, brought to your table. No beer taps, no wine list, and no intention of having either.
Why that is the good version
A licensed pool hall has to manage what alcohol does to a room full of people holding sticks. An unlicensed one does not. What that buys, in practice, is a place a fourteen-year-old can be brought to by a parent, a place somebody who does not drink for any reason at all can spend four hours, and a room where nothing escalates at midnight because nobody in it has been drinking since eight.
The crowd is visibly multicultural and multigenerational. That is not an accident of the suburb. It is what happens when the drink stops being the point.

Even the reviewer who raises it as a caveat immediately puts it down again. It is the mildest complaint we get.

Pies, pasties, toasted sandwiches and rolls from the hot side. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks. Order at the counter and we will bring it to your table, so no one has to leave a frame half-played.

No alcohol is served.
That goes for drinks brought in from outside as well. It is the whole reason the room works the way it does, so we keep to it.
